The price depends on the glass area, thickness and type (clear, low-iron or frosted), the number of doors and hinges, and the hardware finish. A single fixed panel is the most economical option; a three-sided frameless enclosure with brass hardware is at the top. 10mm is the standard for frameless showers because it is rigid enough to stand on hinges and clamps without a frame. 8mm works for semi-frameless and sliding screens where a rail supports the glass. 12mm is used for tall panels, wide fixed screens and walk-in showers with no support bar.
Leaks usually come from the floor, not the glass. We check that the shower tray or floor falls towards the drain, fit a sweep seal on the door and magnetic or soft seals on the closing edge, and seal fixed panels with clear silicone.
