Work inside a villa usually needs no permit. Changes to a building facade or balcony often need an NOC from the landlord or community and sometimes municipality approval. We tell you what applies and prepare the drawings.

10mm tempered glass is the standard for frameless showers. 8mm suits semi-frameless screens, and 12mm is used for tall or wide fixed panels.

Aluminium is stronger, allows slimmer frames and does not warp or discolour in the sun. With a thermal-break profile and double glazing it matches uPVC on insulation.

Sliding windows suit most bedrooms and living rooms because they save space and are easy to maintain. Casement and tilt-and-turn windows seal tighter against dust and noise, so they are the better choice on main roads or in coastal areas.

Both. Powder coating is available in any RAL colour, including wood-grain effects, and anodised finishes are available in silver, bronze and black.

Tempered glass is heat-treated to be several times stronger than normal glass and breaks into small blunt pieces. Laminated glass is two panes bonded with a plastic interlayer, so if it breaks the pieces stay in place. Balustrades and overhead glass use laminated glass; showers and doors use tempered.

Tempered glass has to be cut before it is toughened, so it is ordered to exact sizes. Most shower and partition jobs are ready to install about a week after measuring.
